Just as rest is important, so is mindful movement. Spend some time this holiday season participating in an activity you enjoy such as yoga, tai chi, biking or walking. We all know how important physical activity is for keeping a healthy body, but it also has amazing benefits for your mind. A few of those benefits include alleviating anxiety, increasing happiness and reducing stress. Safe to say we could all benefit from a little bit of that, especially during the holidays.
Pause. relax. reset.

You might be asking yourself, “How is it already December?” to which our answer is, we don’t know. But what we do know is that it means the holidays are quickly approaching! With this wonderful (yet stressful) time approaching, it’s important that we make sure we are taking care of ourselves. After all, the holidays are meant to be savored and enjoyed. And as a wise person once said, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” So we’ve racked our brains and compiled some tips together to help you rock your self-care this holiday season. So grab a cup of something warm, kick your feet up and read on.
Hydrate
We know this fact seems obvious but when you get busy you’d be surprised how little you hydrate your body. Never fear though because we are here to remind you. Up to 60% of the adult human body is water so it’s essential to maintain. When we get dehydrated our body starts functioning less optimally. We become tired, we get headaches, our food doesn’t digest as well, our minds feel fuzzy and we can ever become dizzy and get muscle cramps. To make sure you’re staying hydrated, keep a water bottle with you all day to sip on or add flavoring to your water so it’s more enticing!
Move Your body
Say No
There are so many events and tasks we feel obligated toward, but even more so during the holidays. Remember that it’s okay to say no to things you don’t want to do or things you want to do but don’t have the time/energy for. No is a necessary magic. It draws a circle around you and says ‘I have given enough’.
Get in some "me" time
With these tips, you’ll rock this holiday season by taking good care of yourself. Most of all, remember to not sweat the small stuff and live in the moment. Take in the most wonderful time of the year with your friends and family by really enjoying every moment for what they are.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
